Cigarette Diaries

Cigarette Diaries

I drink to remember
I smoke to forget
All these past people
in these past towns
These small memories
I hide in my back pocket
Like treasures of trash
Trophys and tokens
diamond a dozen
Handshakes and lovers
Somethings to be proud of
somethings to regret…

I kiss goodbye to every little ounce of pain
Light a cigarette and smoke it all the way

Hold two fingers up to yesterday

glad that I’m just alive and here today

Hey, hey, it’s fine

Hey, hey, it’s fine

I left it behind.
